Stock Controller- 10 Corso Como

Over the past six years, The Howard Hughes Corporation has diligently worked to revitalize the South Street Seaport District. The newly renovated Seaport District will be world renowned for events, entertainment and retail. After completion, the Seaport District will encompass seven buildings on several city blocks totaling more than 400,000 square feet filled with cutting-edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings that will be one of the city’s ultimate destinations.
As part of the redevelopment effort, Milan-based 10 Corso Como will be opening in the Seaport District as part of the districts ongoing transformation. The New York store will be 10 Corso Como’s only U.S. location and is consistent with other offerings curated to date by The Howard Hughes Corporation for the revitalized Seaport District that will include culinary experiences from renowned restaurateurs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and the Momofuku Group led by David Chang, a 40,000 square foot food market by Jean-Georges, iPic Theaters and the new Pier 17® highlighted by its 1.5-acre rooftop that will be programmed year-round and become one of the world’s most recognized entertainment destinations.
10 Corso Como New York is a lifestyle destination that offers men’s and women’s fashion, beauty, books, objects and design.  We are currently looking for a stock controller who is responsible for managing the flow of merchandise in and out of the stock room to ensure the generation of sales and minimize losses through efficient inventory control and management. The stock controller will also support management and sales associates in providing the best client experience possible.
  • Partner with the Management and relevant departments to prevent all internal and external losses
  • Resolve inventory issues directly with the Management and relevant departments. Participate in balancing and forwarding negatives with central inventory control.
  • Ensure all receiving procedures are followed including; receiving and tagging the merchandise, checking for damages and putting stock away with appropriate care and attention to prevent damages from occurring in store.
  • Ensures all shipping procedures are followed including; packing of merchandise meeting brand guidelines, shipping/labeling is accurate, supporting paperwork is completed and logged and deadlines are met and generally making sure things are sent in a timely manner and with urgency. This applies for both internal transfers, International shipments and items sent directly to a client.
  • Ensure all consignments are processed in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures including; all necessary paperwork has been completed by the sales consultant prior to the merchandise being sent to the client, and that any consignments out longer than company policy dictates are monitored and flagged to management immediately.
  • Partner with associates to ensure you have all necessary information from them for consignments, repairs, etc. Elevate any concerns or ongoing issues to management.
  • Provide updates in store meetings when necessary to ensure sales consultants are informed of new and existing policies.
  • Manage the preparation of merchandise before each sale period, including; separating carry over items from markdown merchandise. Manage the transferring of unsold merchandise to the warehouse after the sale period when the season ends.
  • Management of the stock ledger report.
  • Responsible for ensuring annual store inventory process runs smoothly and is successful and efficient.
  • Responsible for organization and replenishment of all packaging, including; bags, garment covers, tissue paper and maintenance and care of hangers as well as other supplies as needed.
Stock take
  • A full stock take of all merchandise received in store will be carried out at set times. In addition to the main stock takes, you will be required to carry out cycle counts as directed by Management.
  • Ensure that any discrepancies found after any of the stock takes are brought to Management’s attention immediately.
  • Responsible for making adjustments to the relevant systems following the stock takes and partnering with management where necessary.
  • Overall responsibility for the consignment process, putting in place processes for managing outgoing and incoming merchandise on consignment.
  • Escalating any consignment issues and ensuring consignment processes and communicated and followed.
  • First point of contact with shipping and courier services on consignments and ensuring all related paperwork and system adjustments are recorded and completed.
Faulty stock and repairs
  • Identify any faulty stock immediately and ensure that it is not placed on the shop floor
  • Partner with Management and sales staff to inform of any faulty stock and/or repairs.
  • Complete and keep a paper trail of the appropriate forms regarding faulty stock and repairs.
Supporting Internal Departments
  • Working with the sales teams to ensure that client demands are met, and optimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Maintain constant communication with the management team and other relevant teams regarding stock management.
  • Support the visual merchandiser by making stock available as needed for displays and events, along with assisting in the implementation and maintenance of all merchandising/ visual directives.
  • Preferably BA degree or minimum of 5 years retail stock lead / supervisory experience.
  • Luxury experience preferred.
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements including but not limited to, lifting heavy boxes and climbing ladders.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, oral, and listening).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the luxury retail market
  • High level of time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable in Microsoft Word
