Background Summary
Over the past six years, The Howard Hughes Corporation has diligently worked to revitalize the South Street Seaport District. The newly renovated Seaport District will be world renowned for events, entertainment and retail. After completion, the Seaport District will encompass seven buildings on several city blocks totaling more than 400,000 square feet filled with cutting-edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings that will be one of the city’s ultimate destinations.
 
As part of the redevelopment effort, Milan-based 10 Corso Como will be opening in the Seaport District as part of the districts ongoing transformation. The New York store will be 10 Corso Como’s only U.S. location and is consistent with other offerings curated to date by The Howard Hughes Corporation for the revitalized Seaport District that will include culinary experiences from renowned restaurateurs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and the Momofuku Group led by David Chang, a 40,000 square foot food market by Jean-Georges, iPic Theaters and the new Pier 17® highlighted by its 1.5-acre rooftop that will be programmed year-round and become one of the world’s most recognized entertainment destinations.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  
10 Corso Como New York is a lifestyle destination that offers men’s & women’s fashion, beauty, books, objects and design. As Merchandise Planner, he/she will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing fiscal and seasonal business financial plans in partnership with all stakeholders. He/she will manage a set of plans strategically driving KPIs including sales, margin, OTB and inventory turn for an eventual Omni channel business.  He/she will also need to work closely with the buying team to recommend strategies to achieve balanced plans, maximizing sales and gross margin opportunities through product mix.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Development of annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly merchandise plans for all categories.
  • Manage all plan phases, including top-level preliminary targets and bottom up department level pre and post market.
  • Develop and communicate actionable business analysis and strategies to support achievement of plan.
  • Quantify impact on business, including sales, gross margin and inventory management.
  • Manage and forecast weekly and monthly department level open-to-buys with buyers.
  • Manage inventory content, including basics demand forecasts and aging evaluation.
  • Track floor/space productivity.
  • Executes the development, implementation and execution of new business processes, planning tools, reporting, and merchandise systems technology.
  • Collaborate with buyers on product mix strategies to maximize sales and gross margin.
 
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Preferably BA degree or higher.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role for Omni channel retail.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and forecasting skills are essential.
  • Proficient in planning systems, as well as advanced Microsoft windows applications.
  • Knowledge of retail, luxury, and e-commerce.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills and ability to work in a multi task environment.
  • Possesses good interpersonal, communications, and collaboration skills.
